A united voice for
SA Murray Irrigators

SAMI Membership

South Australian Murray Irrigators Inc. (SAMI) is a privately funded membership-based not-for-profit representative association which exists to support irrigators the length of the River Murray from the South Australian border to the Coorong & Murray mouth.

SAMI currently has 140 members, including both private and trust irrigators, and represents over 1000 South Australian River Murray irrigators holding 97,000 ML of River Murray water.

Joining SAMI is easy. Voluntary membership subscription forms are sent out to irrigators annually or you can contact the SAMI office for a membership form any time.

The SAMI Advantage

  • Providing a unified voice for irrigators living and working alongside the Murray River in SA.

  • Provide state-wide farmer groups with specialist knowledge and commodity groups with a broader irrigation view.

  • We will fight for the future of your farming business; we will argue for increased security over the precious water resources needed for irrigators.

  • Greater empowerment for irrigators in a political process that directly affects you, your family, your industry and your local community.

  • Recognition of you and your community as key stakeholders with a legitimate voice on water and related issues.

  • Opportunities to work with a great group of like-minded, passionate primary producers to influence decision-makers at all levels.

  • Ways to contribute to an improved public perception of South Australian Murray Irrigators as responsible agribusiness industry professionals who are key to the States future prosperity.

  • Access to current information on important industry matters.

  • Helping SAMI preserve a century-old way of life for future generations of South Australian farmers & their ability to continue in the valuable role as food producers.

  • Facilitating SAMI to influence the formation of Government funding initiatives and industry programs.
